Assistant Stores Manager – Lugazi Plant

Tembo Steels (U) Ltd is one of East Africa’s leading integrated steel manufacturers, known for producing high-quality steel products that power industrial and infrastructural growth across the region. We are seeking a qualified, dedicated, and results-oriented Assistant Stores Manager to join our team at the Lugazi Plant.


Job Purpose

The Assistant Stores Manager will support the Stores Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure effective inventory control, adherence to safety and operational procedures, and the timely issuance of materials to production units.

  • Supervise the receipt, verification, and proper storage of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and finished goods.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using ERP or other inventory management systems.

  • Coordinate material issuance in accordance with approved production schedules.

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Stores Management, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment (experience in the steel sector is an added advantage).

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to perform effectively under pressure.
