Mandela National Stadium often referred to as Namboole Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. It is currently used mostly for football matches, although other sports are also practiced. The stadium has a capacity of 40,202 people. The stadium was built with a grant of $36 million dollars from the People’s Republic of China. The 40,202 capacity sports complex was built with a $36m Chinese government grant and opened in 1997. Mandela National Stadium has a mandate to promote sports and community development through provision of adequate sports facilities both for national and international competitions.

Job Description

To develop and monitor implementation of strategies and procedures for the procurement and disposal function in accordance with PPDA regulations.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the annual procurement and disposal plan in line with the approved budget and company priorities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of bidding documents, solicitation of bids, and evaluation of proposals in accordance with procurement laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submits timely procurement reports to management and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide technical support to the Contracts Committee and ensure proper documentation of procurement proceedings.
  • Review procurement requisitions and ensures accuracy and completeness before processing.
  • Monitor the performance of procurement staff and mentor staff in user departments to comply with PPDA requirements.
