Job Description
The Stock Controller is responsible for managing the hotel’s inventory, including food, beverages, housekeeping supplies, and other operational goods. This role ensures optimal stock levels, minimizes waste, prevents theft, and maintains accurate records of all receipts and issues.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of all items and ensure they are maintained at par levels to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
- Receiving: Inspect and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes for quantity and quality.
- Issuing: Control the issuance of stock to various departments (kitchen, housekeeping, bar) using proper requisition forms.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records in the inventory system.
- Stock Takes: Conduct regular physical stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile with system records, investigating and reporting any discrepancies.
- Storage: Ensure all stores are kept clean, organized, and secure, following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles to minimize spoilage.
