Job Description
Jubilee Life Insurance Uganda is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Underwriter to support underwriting assessments and ensure timely and accurate issuance of insurance policies. The role involves evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, determining appropriate pricing and coverage, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and the company’s risk appetite. This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in life insurance underwriting.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate insurance applications in line with company underwriting policies and procedures.
- Analyze risk factors, medical reports, financial information, and supporting documentation to determine insurability.
- Determine appropriate risk pricing, coverage terms, exclusions, or loading where applicable.
- Ensure timely processing, approval, or decline of insurance policies.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal underwriting standards.
- Liaise with sales teams, medical service providers, and reinsurers when required.
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of underwriting processes and service delivery standards.
