Job Description
The FTTX / FTTH Designer will play a critical role in the planning, design, and rollout of fiber-to-the-x (FTTX) and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. The role supports SimbaNET’s network expansion strategy by delivering high-quality outside plant (OSP) designs that ensure efficiency, scalability, and service reliability.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct FTTH surveys and develop detailed OSP network designs.
- Plan and optimize fiber network routes to ensure cost efficiency and network resilience.
- Prepare splice plans, network schematics, and detailed Bills of Materials (BoMs).
- Design access and distribution networks in line with GPON and XGS-PON architectures.
- Collaborate closely with construction, Network Operations Center (NOC), and commercial teams to support seamless project execution.
- Ensure all designs comply with technical standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide technical support during network deployment and commissioning phases.
- Review and update network documentation as projects progress.
