About the Venn Department
The Venn Department is the data and technology engine behind RTV’s work. It ensures that field implementation is guided by accurate data and advanced analytics through the use of customized software tools and real-time insights.
Position Summary
The Assistant Venn Officer – Data Collection & Integrity (DCI) is responsible for maintaining high standards in RTV’s data collection processes. This role ensures the integrity, reliability, and continuous improvement of data used for program implementation and evaluation. The ideal candidate will supervise field data collection, provide technical support, and drive innovative approaches to data integrity and quality assurance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Data Quality Assurance
Refine and optimize data collection tools and templates
Conduct field testing before deploying new tools
Monitor field activities to ensure accuracy and consistency
Champion data collection best practices across teams
Technical Support
Train and onboard field enumerators
Troubleshoot mobile data collection tools such as SurveyCTO, ODK, and CommCare
Provide ongoing support for field teams during data collection phases
Resource Planning
Assist in planning and allocating resources for surveys
Manage enumerator assignments and ensure timely survey execution
Support coordination with third-party contractors
Track and manage unit-level inventory for data collection
Technological Innovation
Identify and implement improvements to data collection workflows
Contribute to pilot testing and scaling new technologies
Collaborate with the Venn team on digitization strategies and innovations
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in monitoring & evaluation, preferably in the NGO or development sector
Technical Skills:
Proficient in mobile data collection tools (e.g., SurveyCTO, ODK, CommCare)
Familiar with data analysis tools like Stata or SPSS, and spreadsheet applications
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational and detail-oriented mindset
Effective communication and facilitation abilities
Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable to field conditions
