Having completed the construction of a ship, the M/v Mpungu for Lake Victoria, Grindrod Logistics Africa Uganda seeks to recruit skilled, experienced and motivated persons to work in Port Bell and Luzira.
Loading and Unloading: Assist in the loading and unloading of goods from trucks, ensuring that items are properly secured and arranged for transport.
Pushing Trucks: Push trucks to help them move in and out of loading bays, parking areas, or other designated locations within the premises.
Guiding: Guide truck drivers by signaling them when to stop, start, or turn, especially in tight spaces or congested areas.
Maintaining Order: Help maintain order and organization in loading and unloading areas, ensuring that trucks are parked in designated spots and traffic flow is maintained.
Equipment Handling: Handle basic equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, or hand trucks to assist in the movement of goods.
Reporting: Report any issues, damages, or safety concerns to supervisors or appropriate personnel.
Cleanliness: Keep the work area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.
Customer Service: Provide courteous and helpful assistance to truck drivers and other personnel as needed.
Training: Participate in training sessions on safety procedures, equipment operation, and other relevant topics as required by the employer.

Physical Fitness: Being a truck pusher is physically demanding, so individuals should have good physical health and stamina.
Manual Dexterity: Ability to maneuver and push heavy loads safely and efficiently.
Communication Skills: Basic communication skills to understand instructions from truck drivers and other personnel.
Safety Awareness: Awareness of safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the vicinity.
Teamwork: Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate with truck drivers, loading staff, and other personnel.
