Job Summary: COSL Uganda is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Training and Development Officer to support the implementation of company training and competence assurance policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying training needs, developing training programs, managing training records, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Implement and oversee company training and competence management policies (L3.2-HR-P007-UG & L3.2-HR-P006-UG).
Collaborate with field and office teams to identify training needs and ensure competency compliance.
Design and coordinate training schedules and programs aligned with client requirements and industry standards.
Maintain and update the company’s training matrix and certification records.
Evaluate and recommend external training providers in accordance with policy.
Organize induction and orientation programs for new employees.
Administer training logistics—booking courses, generating certificates, managing claims, and updating employee records.
Analyze training data to support reporting and annual budget preparation.
Support the development and mentoring of high-potential staff.
Coordinate pre-departure briefings, passport/visa processing, and work permits for staff traveling abroad.
Ensure accurate documentation and effective implementation of all training-related system procedures.
Monitor training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Supervise and train subordinate staff to maintain high standards of performance and compliance.
Ensure adherence to the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) responsibilities.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Background in training and HSE is an added advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative, solution-oriented, and computer proficient.
Good physical and mental health suitable for the role.
