About the Role
Tropical Bank Uganda is seeking a highly motivated and skilled System Application Developer to join our IT team. The role is responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining software applications, systems, and interfaces that support the bank’s digital platforms, internal operations, and various business units.

How to Apply
Lead application development efforts aligned with the bank’s digital strategy.
Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions for both front-end and back-end systems.
Document all development processes in line with the bank’s application development policies.
Integrate third-party software solutions with existing internal systems to ensure seamless operation.
Respond promptly to application security incidents and provide recovery support.
Develop in-house software applications based on business needs and within agreed timelines.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to performance, security, and usability.
Provide technical support to end-users and collaborate with IT teams to resolve system-related issues.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and user manuals.
Generate custom reports as per business or user requirements.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT operations, security, project management) to deliver holistic solutions.
Implement application-level controls to minimize risk exposure during software development.
Maintain updated documentation for key databases and associated applications.
Participate in the testing and execution of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
Conduct regular system performance tests and improvements.
Continuously build knowledge and technical capabilities to contribute to the bank’s innovation goals.
Ensure full compliance with AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in the banking or ICT sector.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of web services and API integrations for digital and agency banking platforms.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or other relevant technologies.
Knowledge of T24 core banking systems is an added advantage.
Understanding of cloud infrastructure and application interface development.
Experience working in agile development environments.

Fluency in English; knowledge of Luganda is an added advantage
