Job Description
Position: Sustainability Assistant
Company: Forvis Mazars Uganda
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Department: Sustainability & ESG Services
Reports To: Sustainability Manager
Job Summary:
The Sustainability Assistant will support Forvis Mazars Uganda in delivering Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) services. This includes assisting in sustainability assessments, ESG reporting, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of sustainability initiatives aligned with global standards and local contexts.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in conducting sustainability audits and impact assessments.
Collect and analyze ESG-related data from client operations.
Support the preparation of sustainability reports and proposals.
Monitor regulatory and policy developments in sustainability and climate risk.
Participate in research projects and development of sustainability tools.
Coordinate with internal teams and clients on ESG strategies.
Promote awareness of sustainability practices within the firm and to clients.
Organize sustainability training sessions and stakeholder workshops.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Passionate about sustainability, ESG issues, and development impact.
Good analytical, research, and writing skills.
Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, SDGs, TCFD, ESG ratings) is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team.
Effective communication and project coordination skills.
