Job Description
The Survey & Network Design Engineer will be responsible for conducting field surveys, designing network solutions, and ensuring installations meet technical and safety standards. The role involves using tools like AutoCAD, Visio, and GIS for network schematics, conducting detailed site assessments, preparing reports, and collaborating with implementation teams. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in network design and implementation, particularly in fiber-optic and wireless networks.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Create network designs using tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, GIS
Develop Bill of Quantities (BoQs), schematic diagrams, and project scopes
Conduct site surveys for LAN, WLAN, GPON, and CCTV installations
Capture geo-coordinates and document terrain layouts
Prepare detailed site and survey reports
Provide real-time feedback to design and implementation teams
Inspect installations for compliance and report snags
Verify resolution of identified issues and prepare QA reports
Ensure safety and functional standards in all designs and installations

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in network design and implementation
Proficient in fiber-optic and wireless network design
Skilled in design tools such as Visio, Edraw, and AutoCAD
Preferred:
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
Experience with network simulation tools
Knowledge of Nigerian telecom regulations
