Job Description
This full-time role involves performing complex technical tasks such as testing and diagnosing fiber cables, supervising installation projects, and maintaining both new and existing fiber-optic circuits. The technician will ensure adherence to technical standards during installation and escalate issues when necessary. Responsibilities also include working with diagnostic tools like OTDR, performing splicing, and maintaining detailed records of fiber installations. Flexibility is required, including availability on weekends, holidays, and night shifts as needed.

How to Apply
Install and maintain fiber optic cables and associated hardware
Perform testing and diagnostics using OTDR, power meters, and other tools
Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with project specifications
Troubleshoot and isolate faults in fiber optic links
Maintain accurate records and documentation of installations and maintenance
Coordinate service testing and activation with providers
Utilize tools like Google Earth for route plotting and KMZ/KML file generation
Inspect connectors and perform power loss and reflectance measurements
Prepare and submit as-built diagrams
Ensure adherence to company and industry standards for civil works and fiber deployment

Bachelor’s Degree (minimum Second Class Upper) or HND (Upper Credit) in a relevant field
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fiber optic work; telecom sector experience is a plus
Strong hands-on experience with fiber fusion splicing and OTDR testing
Skilled in fiber optic cable deployment, troubleshooting, and civil work standards
Proficiency in using technical software for route plotting and drawing diagrams
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prepare as-built documents
Familiarity with transmission equipment (Cisco, Siemens, Huawei) is an added advantage
Willingness to work odd hours, including weekends and holidays
Physically fit to lift and handle equipment and tools
