Job Description
Position: Supply Chain Volunteer
Organization: International Rescue Committee (IRC)
Location: Arua, Uganda
Field Site: Imvepi
Office: IRC Arua Field Office

Position Overview
The Supply Chain Volunteer will report to the Supply Chain Officer – Warehouse, and will support efficient warehousing, inventory, asset, and fleet management for the IRC operations in Imvepi.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Warehousing & Inventory Management
Receive and process completed store request forms, and prepare goods for issuance.
Ensure all goods and equipment are signed for upon receipt via the appropriate documentation (request forms or waybills).
Conduct routine stock-taking and inventory inspections at the warehouse.
Maintain and update stock record cards.
Prepare and submit monthly reports outlining stock movement and balances.
Reconcile warehouse reports, asset tracking sheets, and issuance forms in collaboration with the Supply Chain Officer.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Officer.
Asset Management
Maintain and regularly update the asset register and inventory list.
Ensure assets are properly documented and signed for using equipment issue and receipt forms.
Monitor the security and condition of IRC assets and supplies.
Conduct regular asset inspections and share reports with the Supply Chain Officer and IT team.
Keep accurate records of asset movements in the asset register.
Support monthly reconciliations of asset records in coordination with the Supply Chain Officer and IT.
Fleet Management Support
Work with the Supply Chain Assistant – Fleet and the Head Driver to ensure all IRC vehicles have up-to-date, required documentation (e.g. insurance).
Maintain daily vehicle inspection checklists.
Assist with any other tasks delegated by the Supply Chain Assistant – Fleet.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management, or related field in Social Sciences.
Basic knowledge of warehouse and inventory management systems and tools.
Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 30kg without strain.
Proficient in spoken and written English.
Strong mathematical and spreadsheet skills (e.g. formatting, sorting, filtering).
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills.
Willingness to work in remote field offices under minimum supervision.
Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn.
Strong supervisory and coaching potential.
