Job Description
This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing a supply chain strategy for Africa, ensuring alignment with the broader business objectives. The role includes leading cross-country supply chain teams, optimizing costs, managing ERP systems (SAP), strategic sourcing, supplier and inventory management, logistics coordination, and data-driven performance improvements. The Supply Chain Manager must ensure regulatory compliance, foster strong internal and external partnerships, and deliver operational excellence across procurement and distribution activities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a pan-African supply chain strategy
Lead procurement, logistics, warehousing, and ERP system optimization
Drive cost optimization and inventory rationalization
Manage and mentor cross-functional and cross-country teams
Collaborate with commercial, finance, and production teams
Present supply chain metrics and cost-saving initiatives to senior leadership
Oversee supplier negotiations and contract management
Implement supplier performance metrics and compliance standards
Ensure timely purchasing of raw and packing materials
Optimize inbound and outbound logistics and warehouse operations
Monitor inventory levels and manage physical stock counts
Implement and track KPIs for continuous improvement
Provide regular supply chain reporting and insights
Ensure compliance with trade laws and customs requirements
Support demand planning and collaborate with commercial directors
Maintain ethical and compliant procurement practices
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field
Minimum of 5 years in a supply chain role, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
Experience in SAP (especially MM, SD, WM modules) and Microsoft Office
Industry experience in Food & Beverage, Food Service, Ingredients, or Flavors is an advantage
Demonstrated success in cost management and import/export compliance
Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills
Ability to manage complex and fast-paced environments
Strong facilitation and leadership skills
French language skills are an added advantage
