Job Description
Reporting to the Deputy Director – Supply Chain Management, the jobholder will play a key role in the procurement process, from preparing purchase orders and managing supplier contracts, to inventory management and goods inspection. The position involves ensuring procurement compliance, proper documentation, and timely delivery of goods and services to support the operations of the Commission.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare LPOs and LSOs for management approval to facilitate timely supplier payments
Manage and update supplier contracts for easy reference and compliance
Maintain and oversee inventory and stores to ensure accurate stock levels
Receive and record goods and services delivered for documentation and payment processing
Inspect goods upon delivery to confirm quality and compliance with specifications
Compile departmental specifications to ensure accurate procurement
Distribute quotation requests and manage sourcing processes
Assist in preparing request for quotations and bid documents
Maintain procurement registers including bulk bid and quotation dispatch registers
Perform quotation analysis to ensure value for money
Oversee supplier performance and contract adherence
Prepare reminders to suppliers for late deliveries
Track LPO/LSO implementation and report any anomalies
Compile procurement data for mandatory reports to management
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience
Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent from a recognized institution
KCSE mean grade of C or equivalent
Certificate in computer application skills
