Job Description
The Stores Attendant is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of dairy products and related materials to support efficient distribution operations. The role ensures proper handling of stock in line with hygiene, safety, and stock rotation (FIFO) standards, while maintaining clean, organized, and compliant store facilities.
Job Summary:
The Stores Attendant supports inventory control by keeping accurate stock records, proper documentation, and timely reporting of variances. Working closely with operations and logistics teams, the role ensures optimal stock availability, minimal losses, and smooth day-to-day store operations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming dairy products and supplies, ensuring correct quantities, quality, and proper documentation
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to ensure uninterrupted distribution operations
- Implement and strictly follow FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation to minimize expiries and product losses
- Ensure proper storage of dairy products in line with hygiene, cold-chain, and food safety requirements
- Identify, document, and report damaged, expired, or short-delivered products and promptly follow up with suppliers
- Organize and maintain clean, orderly, and safe storage areas for efficient access and handling
- Label, track, and record all stock movements accurately for traceability and accountability
- Prepare and issue products for dispatch according to delivery schedules and approved requests
- Maintain accurate records of stock receipts, issues, returns, and adjustments
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and support reconciliation of variances
- Monitor stock levels and promptly report low stock or overstock situations to supervisors
- Prepare routine inventory and stock movement reports for management and finance review
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards (HACCP, GMP), and workplace safety regulations
- Promote safe handling practices and maintain a hygienic store environment at all times
- Work closely with logistics, sales, and finance teams to support efficient distribution and inventory control
