Job Description
C-Care Uganda is seeking a qualified Medical Officer to work as an in-house doctor responsible for clinical care of patients in OPD, ward, and other clinical units, ensuring an efficient, effective, and high-quality medical service in line with C-Care protocols and standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Carry out conclusive diagnoses and treatment based on comprehensive history taking, patient examination, and thorough investigations following C-Care protocols.
- Be fully conversant with hospital and health centre facilities, systems, and corresponding charges/fees.
- Follow up on all cases, ensuring lab tests, imaging, further consultations, and medical attention are completed.
- Provide OPD cover as required, ensuring all patients are seen promptly without unnecessary delay.
- Be well-versed with medical equipment and how to use and maintain it.
- Liaise with external medical service providers and specialists for proper patient management and referrals.
- Instruct and train junior medical staff on patient management, triage, and handling.
- Keep up to date with current medical systems through regular CME attendance and presentations.
- Review ambulance cases as required to prepare for uninterrupted care of patients in transit.
- Provide ward cover ensuring comprehensive patient management and clear written records in patient files.
- Conduct regular ward rounds and prepare comprehensive reports with proper handover to the next Medical Officer on duty.
