Location: Kampala, Uganda
Sokoni Africa Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Stock Controller to join our team. Candidates with supermarket experience are highly preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, tracking stock movements, and ensuring optimal availability while minimizing excess inventory. Your efforts will be key to maintaining accurate stock records and enhancing the efficiency of our supply chain operations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor and control inventory levels to guarantee sufficient stock availability.
Oversee stock movement processes including receiving, storage, and issuance of materials.
Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
Develop and implement stock control procedures to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
Collaborate closely with the purchasing team to ensure timely stock replenishment.
Prepare and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Support the development of inventory management strategies aimed at cost optimization.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in stock handling and storage.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field is an advantage.
Proven experience as a Stock Controller or similar role.
Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Analytical mindset with ability to accurately interpret data.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
