Job Description
The Research Assistants will be responsible for administering surveys, conducting qualitative data collection, and performing data verification for the PEP Project. This short-term engagement will take place during June and July 2025 across eleven Kenyan counties. The selected candidates will use digital platforms such as KoBoCollect for data collection and work closely with healthcare professionals to gather relevant information. They must be familiar with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and possess excellent communication, data analysis, and teamwork skills. The role also demands travel and flexibility for up to 20 consecutive days away from home.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Administer surveys using KoBoCollect or similar digital platforms
Conduct in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with healthcare workers
Transcribe interview recordings verbatim
Perform data entry, cleaning, and verification
Assist with administrative tasks related to the project
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Anthropology, Population Studies, Demography, Statistics, Epidemiology, Community Development, or related field
Experience in conducting surveys, interviews, FGDs, and KIIs
Prior work experience with healthcare professionals is an added advantage
Must be a resident of at least one of the listed counties
Willingness to travel and work away from home for up to 20 days
Skills and Competencies:
Familiarity with quantitative tools (STATA, SPSS, or R)
Familiarity with qualitative analysis tools (Nvivo or Atlas.ti)
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Proficiency in written and spoken English
