Job Description
This leadership role involves spearheading the strategic planning, administration, and academic management of the Institute. The Director will ensure effective delivery of training programs, develop academic and research priorities, and promote strategic partnerships both locally and internationally. The position also requires oversight of resource utilization, budget management, staff development, and compliance with institutional policies. The Director will act as the ambassador of the Institute, elevating its profile in the region and globally while ensuring sustainability through partnerships and grant income.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities:
Lead strategic planning, implementation, and administration of the Institute.
Identify and set research priorities aligned with the vision of the school.
Develop and maintain partnerships with academic, financial, and policy institutions locally and globally.
Pursue research grants and external funding opportunities for the school.
Technical and Operational Responsibilities:
Initiate, develop, and deliver training programs for CBK and the financial sector.
Oversee procedures for course registration, certification, and participant experience.
Ensure optimal use of facilities, staff, finances, and IT systems.
Provide academic and research leadership.
Monitor and report on institutional performance.
Guide continuous professional development for staff.
Oversee the upgrading of training materials and infrastructure.
Implement CBK management decisions and ensure regulatory compliance.
Develop and manage the Institute’s budget and ensure sound financial practices.
Represent the Institute and elevate its profile both regionally and internationally.
Inspire and manage staff performance.
Collaborate with CBK departments to meet institutional objectives.
Produce timely reports and updates.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, or related Social Sciences.
Master’s Degree or higher in a related field from a recognized university.
Professional membership and qualification are added advantages.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
At least 5 years at a senior leadership level in a reputable organization.
Technical Competencies:
Proven executive management experience and understanding of training trends.
Background in education policy, finance, and people management.
Experience in strategic leadership and financial sustainability.
Strong public relations, marketing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Project management, organizational and fundraising capabilities.
Behavioral/General Competencies:
Leadership, mentorship, and people management.
Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to build collaborative relationships.
