About the Role
The Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring that all visitors and persons of concern receive timely, respectful, and confidential assistance at the UNHCR Uganda office. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the front desk and reception area, facilitating internal communication, and supporting administrative tasks under the supervision of a Senior Associate or Officer.

How to Apply
Greet and assist visitors, directing them to the appropriate staff or department.
Manage incoming calls, provide general information, and transfer calls as needed while maintaining confidentiality.
Handle incoming/outgoing mail and coordinate internal document distribution.
Record visitor logs and maintain organized records.
Utilize office equipment such as phones, fax, and computer systems.
Ensure that vulnerable individuals are prioritized according to established criteria.
Provide accurate and timely verbal or written messages to relevant staff.
Support daily administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Contribute to risk identification and reporting within the functional area.
Education: High School Diploma with at least 1 year of relevant experience OR a Bachelor's degree or higher.
Languages: Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages and/or a UN working language is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer literacy
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Organizational and multitasking abilities
Desirable:
Familiarity with UNHCR systems such as proGres (refugee registration database)
