Job Purpose
BRAC Uganda is seeking to recruit 86 Program Assistants (PAs) to support its Adolescent Initiative for Livelihoods and Empowerment (AIM) program. Reporting to the AIM Branch Manager, the PA will be responsible for implementing field-level activities across three core program pillars:
Social & Economic Empowerment (Livelihood & Education pathways)
Enabling Environment for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW)
The PA will oversee club setup and management, participant and mentor engagement, training facilitation, asset distribution, education support, and community mobilization. This role will work closely with technical teams, BRAC Microfinance, schools, and community stakeholders.

How to Apply
Program Implementation & Supervision
Lead community-level program introduction and mobilization
Conduct participant and club selection, setup, and launch
Oversee club management and day-to-day activities
Recruit, train, and supervise mentors and ensure ongoing support and capacity building
Facilitate household-level surveys and participant assessments
Livelihood & Enterprise Development
Support selection of livelihood options for participants
Organize and conduct technical and entrepreneurship training
Monitor asset distribution and follow up on asset usage, income generation, and business growth
Collect and deposit shared-cost contributions from participants
Facilitate formation and supervision of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs)
Coordinate market linkages and enterprise development activities
Education Pathway Support
Identify and enroll eligible participants in the AIM Education pathway
Facilitate setup and supervision of peer mentor study circles
Distribute and monitor school-related support (cash/in-kind)
Liaise with schools to track attendance and academic progress
Support teacher development and school improvement planning
Community Engagement & Linkages
Form and engage Youth Development Committees (YDCs)
Organize community-level meetings and outreach
Map local service providers and support referrals, especially for GBV and SRH services
Establish strong relationships with schools, community leaders, and local government
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain all program records, registers, and files
Support both manual and digital data collection via platforms such as Binsight
Prepare timely programmatic reports and updates
Assist with local procurement, logistics, and branch-level operations
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of all team members and program participants, especially children and vulnerable adults
Act as a safeguarding resource and promote safe practices in all program activities
Report safeguarding concerns in accordance with BRAC policies and procedures
Education: Bachelor’s degree in any of the following or related fields:
Social Sciences
Community Development
Gender and Development
Business Administration
Human Resources
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in the international development sector, preferably with:
Marginalized communities
Programs focused on education, microfinance, livelihoods, food security, or women’s empowerment
Skills and Competencies
Strong community mobilization and facilitation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups
Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to BRAC’s mission
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools (e.g. KoBo, SurveyCTO, CommCare, Google Forms)
Willingness to travel extensively and spend time in the field
