Job Description
Job Opportunity: Production/Station Manager

Location: Mbale, Uganda
Position Overview
We are seeking a Production/Station Manager to oversee coffee procurement and processing activities at our washing station in Mbale. Reporting to the Procurement/Field Services Unit (FSU) Manager, this role requires a hands-on, quality-focused individual with strong leadership and organizational skills to manage operations at the station level.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
1. Cherry Procurement
Manage the sourcing of coffee cherries directly from farmers, suppliers, and the FSU field team.
Ensure all procured cherries meet the company’s strict quality standards.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships based on trust and transparency.
2. Production & Processing
Oversee the processing of cherries into parchment coffee at the washing station.
Monitor quality control at all stages of the process.
Manage drying processes to achieve optimal moisture content in the parchment.
3. Logistics & Stock Management
Coordinate the timely transport of parchment from the washing station to the drying yard and subsequently to the Kampala mill.
Track and report daily on procurement volumes and stock movements.
4. Labour & Resource Management
Recruit and supervise casual labor for washing station and drying yard operations.
Optimize resource use and minimize waste to ensure efficient operations.
5. Reporting & Compliance
Submit daily operational reports on procurement, stock status, and productivity.
Ensure full compliance with company procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
In-depth knowledge of coffee bean varieties and production processes.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proven ability to build sustainable supplier relationships.
Familiarity with ethical sourcing and traceability standards.
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable to remote field environments.
Strong organizational and team leadership capabilities.
