About the Role
As a Product Manager at FIDO Uganda, you’ll play a key role in building impactful financial products tailored to the needs of African users. You’ll work across departments, connecting insights from the field with innovative product solutions to drive growth and positive change.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Define clear, detailed product requirements and user stories for new features and improvements.
Conduct market research to identify customer needs, opportunities, and potential risks.
Analyze competitors and industry trends to shape product strategy.
Collect and synthesize user feedback through field visits and remote interactions.
Serve as the voice of the user within the product organization.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure intuitive and user-friendly experiences.
Prioritize product features based on business impact, user value, and technical feasibility.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, marketing, and operations teams to deliver high-quality product releases.
Leverage data analytics to evaluate product performance and inform decisions.
Communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of experience as a product manager, working with cross-functional teams.
Strong user-centric mindset and data-driven approach.
Proven experience writing detailed product requirements and design specifications.
Excellent communication skills in English—both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to engage directly with users and translate their needs into product solutions.
Team player who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative startup culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the financial services or fintech industry.
Technical background or understanding of software development processes.
