Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Hotel Procurement Manager at Arcadia Suites Hotel Kampala. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day procurement tasks, including supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and contract management. The role requires strong analytical skills and expertise in procurement processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.

  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.

  • Vendor Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop procurement budgets and monitor expenses. Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement processes.

  • Sourcing and Purchasing: Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services required by the organization. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services.

  • Contract Management: Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and enforcing contract terms and conditions.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.

  • Compliance and Legal: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Stay updated on changes in procurement regulations and industry best practices.

  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.

  • Performance Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes. Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate procurement performance to stakeholders.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team achieves its objectives.

  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive innovation.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation skills

  • Analytical Skills and Procurement expertise

  • Contract Management knowledge

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Experience in the hotel industry or hospitality procurement is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field

  • Recent experience in store keeping and management
