Job Description
The Procurement Executive will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The role focuses on supporting operations across fleet management, port activities, and inland haulage. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving cost-efficiency, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement standards. The role requires strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and experience in supply chain management.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Source and evaluate suppliers for shipping, transport, and maintenance-related items
Negotiate prices, terms, and service-level agreements with vendors
Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies
Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timely procurement of critical equipment and spare parts
Maintain and update an approved supplier database
Collaborate with fleet, workshop, and warehouse teams to anticipate and meet material needs
Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
Ensure adherence to procurement procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements
Assist in performance evaluation of vendors and manage contract renewals
Generate reports on procurement history, pricing trends, and vendor performance
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or shipping
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Familiarity with vehicle spare parts and marine-related materials is an advantage
Proficient in MS Office and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
High level of integrity, detail orientation, and ability to perform under pressure
