Job Description
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for planning and overseeing the logistics operations of the company, including inventory management, coordination of deliveries, and supervising packaging and transportation. The ideal candidate will work closely with warehouse staff, sales representatives, and transport providers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of educational materials. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve logistical issues effectively.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records
Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and retrieval of materials
Plan and schedule deliveries to Sales Representatives across various locations
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the correct books to designated recipients
Track shipments and address delivery issues proactively
Liaise with transport providers (park drivers and courier services) for cost-effective delivery solutions
Prepare and manage delivery schedules and route plans
Ensure proper documentation including delivery notes, waybills, and invoices
Supervise packaging and labeling of books for dispatch
Oversee and monitor logistics drivers
Handle returns of damaged or unsold books
Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in logistics operations
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
OND/HND/NCE in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Minimum of 2 years' experience in logistics or a related role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and organized
Familiarity with transportation laws and road safety standards
Excellent driving skills
Time management and multitasking ability
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective organizational abilities
