Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager leads the supply chain team in executing daily operations while aligning with the company's broader supply chain strategies. This includes supervising logistics and procurement activities, ensuring quality and compliance across the supply chain, and continuously improving team performance through mentorship and training. The manager is expected to monitor supply chain data accuracy, track progress of procurement tasks, and resolve operational issues in real-time. The role demands strong planning and negotiation skills to drive cost-saving initiatives and maintain strategic supplier partnerships. The manager will also oversee the implementation of continuous improvement practices and performance feedback mechanisms to enhance overall efficiency.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise and guide the supply chain team, ensuring operational alignment with company goals
Conduct inspections and audits across production stages to maintain quality standards
Set daily targets and delegate tasks appropriately
Monitor and track progress of supply chain tasks to preempt and resolve bottlenecks
Support team members in achieving targets and resolving cross-functional issues
Monitor and ensure accuracy of supply chain data and open purchase orders
Identify skills gaps within the team and implement training and mentoring programs
Analyze standard materials used by the company to drive cost-saving procurement strategies
Design and implement continuous improvement initiatives for supply chain efficiency
Offer regular feedback to team leads and promote professional growth
Manage inventory control and ensure efficient material storage
Negotiate procurement terms and maintain strong supplier relationships
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree is an advantage
Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Certification, CIPS, or APICS are preferred
Minimum of 6 years of experience in supply chain management, with expertise in procurement and logistics
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Proficiency in ERP and supply chain management software
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of compliance, environmental, and sustainability practices in supply chain operations
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a dynamic environment
