Job Description
On behalf of our client, we seek to recruit a highly competent, hardworking and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Procurement and Logistics Officer. The Procurement Officer will be charged with the overall procurement process of the company i.e. providing solid advice, coaching and guiding on operational matters to ensure compliance with the company’s procurement rules and regulations They will also be in charge of identifying price trends and generating a buying plan to find cost effective suppliers that consider the budget of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate procurement documents and prepare orders
Negotiate and assist with contracts with suppliers
Develop and monitor cost-reduction strategies, inventory control procedures as well as purchasing policies.
Manage vendors, attend vendor meetings, develop and implement systems to monitor vendor performance
Meet with suppliers when the need arises, review their proposals and invoices and also monitor their performance
Understand, analyze, and evaluate enterprise-wide procurement requirements for products and services
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
Encourage continuous improvement in competitive bidding practices
Track and schedule all materials, equipment, and personnel purchase orders
Manage claims and losses
Track and report budgets by month, budget variance, and actual budget
Improve operations through process improvements
Develop cost control plans as well as documenting policies and procedures
Coordinate with staff, operations personnel, and outside agencies to ensure materials, equipment, and services are available when needed
Any other assigned duties
Knowledge of public procurement procedures and stock management

Qualifications and Competencies
Degree in Procurement and Logistics
4 years of experience
Should have experience sourcing for vendors/suppliers
Should have experience in the pre-qualification process
Experience in preparing bids.
Must be computer literate
Strong negotiation skills
