Transportation Management:
Shipping Coordination: Coordinating the transportation of goods from suppliers to the company and from the company to customers.
Carrier Selection: Selecting and managing relationships with transportation carriers.
Warehouse Management:
Storage Solutions: Managing warehouse operations, including the storage, retrieval, and distribution of goods.
Inventory Control: Implementing inventory control measures to ensure accuracy and efficiency in stock management.
Distribution and Delivery:
Order Fulfillment: Overseeing the order fulfillment process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
Route Planning: Planning and optimizing delivery routes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Logistics Planning:
Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinating logistics activities with other departments, such as production, sales, and procurement, to ensure smooth operations.
Demand Forecasting: Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and plan logistics accordingly.
Compliance and Documentation:
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all logistics activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
Documentation: Managing documentation related to shipping, customs, and transportation.
Performance Monitoring:
KPI Tracking: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics, such as delivery times, transportation costs, and inventory accuracy.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements in logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is typically required.
Advanced Degrees: An MBA or a master’s degree in supply chain management can be beneficial for advanced positions.
Skills:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills for analyzing data, evaluating suppliers, and optimizing logistics processes.
Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation skills for securing favorable terms with suppliers.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, orders, and logistics activities simultaneously.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using procurement and logistics software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues related to procurement and logistics.
Experience:
Entry-Level: Entry-level positions may require 1-3 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or related fields.
Mid-Level and Senior Positions: More advanced positions typically require 5-10 years of relevant experience.
Certification (Optional but Beneficial):
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM): Offered by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP): Offered by the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM).
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP): Offered by the American Purchasing Society.
Knowledge:
Supply Chain Management: Comprehensive understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
Market Trends: Knowledge of market trends and conditions affecting supply chains and logistics.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations related to procurement, shipping, and customs.
