Job Description
The successful candidate will act as an expert resource and trusted advisor in all quality engineering-related activities. Responsibilities include coordinating reporting on test statuses, driving quality engineering initiatives, aligning automation strategies with broader IT goals, and championing the use of modern engineering practices such as Agile and CI. The role also involves interacting with development teams to resolve testing challenges and ensuring the availability of necessary tools and environments to support seamless testing execution.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Facilitate success in quality engineering by leading test planning and execution.
Drive alignment of automation initiatives with system and application strategies.
Coordinate and track quality engineering activities and risks.
Ensure adherence to Agile, Continuous Integration (CI), and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
Communicate risks and issues effectively to delivery teams.
Champion modern quality engineering practices across the organization.
Engage with development teams and resolve test effort impediments.
Lead and mentor quality engineering teams for continuous improvement.
Deliver test reports that highlight risks and inform feature teams.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Final year undergraduate, Honours, or Masters Degree (completed or completing in 2025) in:
Computer Science
Electronic Engineering
Informatics, Information Systems
Information Technology
Software Development
Software Engineering
Minimum Requirements:
South African citizen
Under 30 years of age
No more than two years’ work experience
Minimum 65% average over all years of study
