Job Description
SunCulture is seeking a People & Culture Associate to work in the People and Culture team to build our organizational capacity & ensure we are creating an environment in which our team can realize their full potential. To be successful in this role, the right candidate will bring knowledge & experience in providing support for SunCulture Uganda across key functional areas such as recruitment, employee relations & engagement and performance management. Ultimately, you will help foster a healthy workplace by ensuring our HR procedures run smoothly at all times. This is a role with the opportunity for a lot of growth; you must be passionate about seeking to learn and grow with the organisation.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Support in recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, and assisting in shortlisting and issuing employment contracts.
- Work with hiring managers to coordinate all aspects of the recruiting process for various roles.
- Coordinate and ensure that all pre-onboarding tasks are effectively executed.
- Create and update an onboarding process documentation to guide the onboarding process of new hires.
- Support in onboarding new employees and ensure they have access to the necessary resources and provide a positive day one experience.
- Provide comprehensive Employee Life Cycle Management which includes and is not limited to Pre-boarding (Background checks & pre-employment checks) Onboarding (Setting employees up on the HRIS and Facilitating onboarding sessions), Offboarding (Exit Management)
- Ensure employee records are up to date with the relevant employee documentation by inputting new hire information and changes in employment status.
- Support in the on-boarding sessions with new hires on the Performance Management system.
- Assist with the management and coordinating of the mid-year and annual performance review processes for all staff.
- Act as an initial point of contact for a wide range of questions covering topics like benefits, policies, onboarding and People and Culture systems.
- Serve as a touchpoint for ideas and events to foster culture building and assist in coordinating such activities.
- Administer and improve employee engagement by coordinating team activities.
- Ensure day-to-day operations of People-related functions are addressed in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner.
