Job Purpose

UBA Uganda is seeking a results-driven MIS & Performance Officer to support strategic decision-making through the provision of accurate, timely, and actionable business intelligence. The role is responsible for tracking key performance indicators, optimizing operational efficiency, and aligning business activities with the Bank’s long-term goals. This position plays a critical part in driving profitability and institutionalizing a data-driven culture.

How to Apply

1. Performance Management

  • Deliver accurate, timely performance reports across business and functional units.

  • Analyze business performance and conduct competitor benchmarking to guide leadership decisions.

  • Monitor and manage cost allocation frameworks to support cost control across departments.

  • Support the Strategy & Performance Manager in delivering data-backed insights and internal performance reporting.

  • Continuously assess the Bank’s operating model to drive operational alignment, eliminate redundancies, and enhance effectiveness.

2. Business Intelligence

  • Conduct regular economic, market, and business intelligence analysis to support strategic, tactical, and operational decisions.

  • Gather and interpret economic and market data to provide business insights that support growth and profitability.

  • Identify business opportunities and potential risks through in-depth market and sector analysis.

  • Carry out internal performance benchmarking and trend analysis to inform business strategy.

3. Strategic Management

  • Drive strategic planning and performance tracking processes within the Bank.

  • Support the development and monitoring of financial and non-financial targets aligned with corporate objectives.

  • Implement high-impact, transformative initiatives to deliver measurable business outcomes.

  • Manage the identification and implementation of successful internal initiatives across the organization using technology.

  • Develop and maintain a performance tracking system to monitor the success of strategic projects.

  • Provide decision-support analytics to the CFO and business leaders to ensure alignment with the Bank’s strategic aspirations.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of Profit Before Tax (PBT) targets

  • Attainment of departmental growth and operational efficiency targets

  • Effective balance sheet management (liquidity and capital adequacy)

  • Achievement of cost-to-income ratio benchmarks

  • Timeliness and quality of MIS, market, and business intelligence reports

  • Contribution to Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MPRs and QBRs)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the banking sector with exposure to MIS, financial analysis, or performance management

  • Strong ability to work with large data sets and drive actionable insights
