Job Description
This role involves performing diagnostic tests in various disciplines such as microbiology, hematology, clinical chemistry, and molecular biology. The candidate will ensure the accuracy of results, operate and calibrate laboratory equipment, and comply with safety protocols. The scientist will also collaborate with the clinical team to support comprehensive patient care. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in automated diagnostic tools, possess sound analytical skills, and comply with professional licensing requirements.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic tests in microbiology, hematology, clinical chemistry, and molecular biology
Ensure accuracy and quality control of laboratory results
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment for optimal performance
Document and report test results accurately
Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to support patient care
Adhere to all laboratory safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science
Licensed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a diagnostic laboratory setting
Skilled in using automated diagnostic equipment and modern laboratory techniques
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Must reside in Port Harcourt
