Job Description
The Pharmacist will be responsible for accurately dispensing both prescription and over-the-counter medications while providing expert advice on their use, interactions, and side effects. The role involves interpreting prescriptions, maintaining patient records, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, and supporting other pharmacy staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, along with strong ethical standards and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately
Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and possible interactions
Educate patients on correct medication usage, side effects, and storage
Maintain and secure up-to-date patient medication records
Manage pharmaceutical inventory and ensure proper storage of drugs
Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical laws and ethical standards
Collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal patient care
Supervise pharmacy technicians and provide leadership support
Offer professional responses to patient inquiries and concerns
Stay current with pharmaceutical advancements and drug approvals

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
B.Pharm or Pharm.D from a recognized institution
Valid pharmacist license from the appropriate regulatory authority
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in pharmacy management systems/software
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced settingPreferred:
Experience in a community or supermarket pharmacy setup
Knowledge of inventory control and insurance claim processes
Certification in pharmacovigilance or public health is a plus
