Job Description
The successful candidate will oversee mechanical design and construction activities, including the development of detailed engineering designs for equipment and piping systems, supervision of installation, and coordination with project teams to ensure timelines are met. The Mechanical Engineer will ensure all mechanical works comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations for hazardous materials. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a high-quality, safe, and efficient Chlor-Alkali Plant.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical systems, equipment layouts, and piping for the Chlor-Alkali Plant.
Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, codes, and standards (ASME, API, etc.).
Manage and monitor construction schedules for mechanical works.
Conduct inspections and quality control checks on equipment and systems.
Collaborate with project teams and contractors to resolve technical issues.
Ensure proper documentation of mechanical designs, construction progress, and compliance reports.
Support operational teams with knowledge transfer on mechanical systems during project handover.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience in the design and construction of industrial facilities, preferably in chemical processing.
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME, API).
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Team-oriented with the ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.
Understanding of safety regulations and hazardous materials handling.
Problem-solving and project management skills.
