Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a global research and policy nonprofit that discovers and advances what works to improve the lives of people living in poverty. IPA tests promising ideas across contexts and along the path to scale, proactively engages key decision-makers throughout the research process, shares findings with the right people at the right time and equips partners with the skills and tools they need to use data and evidence.
To achieve our mission, IPA Uganda is committed to enhancing staff capacity to lead internal trainings. As part of this commitment, IPA Uganda aims to conduct a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop which will equip staff with the necessary skills to serve as trainers for internal capacity building initiatives. To this end, IPA Uganda seeks the services of an individual consultant with expertise in communications and training to provide a master trainer of trainers (ToTs) service. The workshop will target a maximum of 30 IPA staff members selected based on their roles, responsibilities, and potential to serve as trainers within the organization.

To equip selected IPA Uganda staff members with advanced training techniques and methodologies to effectively deliver capacity-building sessions.
To enhance the skills of participants in designing and delivering engaging and interactive training sessions tailored to the needs of IPA Uganda.
To establish a pool of competent trainers within IPA Uganda capable of cascading knowledge and skills to colleagues across various departments and programs.
Task
Adult learning principles and instructional design.
Techniques for conducting and designing training programs.
Effective facilitation and presentation skills.
Interactive training methodologies and tools.
Evaluation and feedback mechanisms for assessing training impact.
Deliverables
Detailed training agenda and session plans.
Training materials, including presentations, handouts, and exercises.
Pre-workshop assignments and assessments, if applicable.
Post-workshop evaluation tools for assessing participant learning and workshop effectiveness.
A workshop report.
Schedule
The ToT workshop is expected to take 1 day and will be held at a hotel in Kampala, with a virtual option, depending on prevailing circumstances and participant availability.
Terms of Compensation
Payable to individual or firm's bank account within 14 working days after completion of deliverables and receipt of demand note or invoice.
The consultant should arrange their transport to and from the venue.
The consultant shall be solely responsible for safety and custody of their equipment.
Period of engagement
Timeline: The ToT workshop is scheduled to take place within the month of June 2024. The timeline for planning and execution will be finalized in consultation with the selected consultant(s) or training facilitator(s).
Reporting: The consultant(s) or training facilitator(s) will submit a comprehensive report detailing the workshop proceedings, participant feedback, and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives within IPA Uganda.
Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Demonstrated experience and expertise in conducting ToT workshops.
Relevance of proposed methodology and approach.
Qualifications and expertise of key personnel.
Cost-effectiveness of the proposed budget.

Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering ToT workshops, preferably in the context of international development or nonprofit organizations.
Expertise in adult learning approaches, instructional design, and facilitation techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of participants.
The firm or consultant should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience of training ToTs in multiple sectors and various clients. Expertise in conducting high level ToTs training for international nongovernmental organizations or governments agencies would be an asset.
Technical competencies and qualifications of proposed trainers should be demonstrated, including CVs, certifications, such as ISO standard (if any), membership with the international bodies (if any), or similar certifications.
Proven ability and capacity to conduct and facilitate a well structured master ToTs program in English.
Provide names and points of contact information for three (3) current references (include email address)
Ability to comply with required or proposed delivery or performance schedules.
Scope of work
The Master ToT workshop will cover the following key areas:
Principles of adult learning and instructional design.
Facilitation skills and techniques.
Monitoring and evaluation of training programs.
Utilization of technology in training delivery.
Adaptation of training content to diverse audiences and contexts.
