​Established in 2008, Innovations for Poverty Action Uganda (IPAU) is a non-profit research and policy organization dedicated to discovering and promoting effective solutions to global poverty problems. Operating from its Kampala office, IPAU collaborates with researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to identify, evaluate, and scale impactful interventions across sectors such as Agriculture, Consumer Protection, Early Childhood Development, Education, Financial Inclusion, Gender, Health, and Peace & Recovery.

Since its inception, IPAU has completed 85 research studies and currently has 42 in progress, contributing significantly to shaping national policies and improving livelihoods. The organization fosters a work culture that emphasizes evidence-based decision-making, collaboration, and continuous learning, offering employees opportunities to engage in meaningful research that drives social change.

IPAU maintains a strong partnership with the Ugandan government, collaborating with key ministries such as the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development, and the Office of the Prime Minister to disseminate and implement evidence-based policies aimed at sustainable development and social equity.
