Reports to: Supply Chain Officer, Uganda
Scope: Local
Job Purpose
Are you passionate about logistics and supply chain operations? This role is a great opportunity to bring purpose to life at Unilever Uganda. As a Logistics Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing daily logistics operations—including shipment coordination, customs documentation, supply planning, warehouse oversight, 3rd-party (3P) supervision, waste management, and payment reconciliation. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supply Planning
Develop and update replenishment plans based on sales forecasts and past trends.
Coordinate with suppliers and procurement to ensure timely ordering.
Ensure readiness for new product launches and innovations in the warehouse.
Maintain stock balance to prevent shortages or excess.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all logistics activities meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
Conduct safety audits and work with 3P providers to resolve issues.
Promote a culture of safety among warehouse and logistics teams.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
Oversee goods receiving, storage, and dispatch.
Maintain accurate stock records through regular cycle counts.
Identify and manage damaged or expired inventory according to SOP.
3rd-Party Warehouse Supervision
Monitor warehouse operations and ensure compliance with SLAs.
Ensure efficient order picking, safety, and cleanliness.
Transport & 3P Payment Reconciliation
Match transporter invoices with actual trips, signed PODs, and agreed rates.
Prepare payment summaries and address discrepancies.
Ensure on-time and in-full (OTIF) payments for 3P services.
Reporting & Cross-functional Coordination
Maintain trackers for deliveries, inventory, and supply plans.
Collaborate with sales, finance, and procurement to ensure operational flow.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supply chain environment
Proficiency in SAP and Excel
Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics operations
Experience in warehouse management, 3P oversight, and waste SOPs
Understanding of customs procedures and transport cost structures
Strong decision-making and results-driven mindset
Preferred:
Degree in Supply Chain Management
Experience in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector
Key Skills

Strong analytical and numerical proficiency
Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
Strong communication and presentation skills
Leadership and supervisory capabilities
