Job Description
As a Lead Data Analyst, you will work closely with analysts, strategists, and technical teams across nine African countries and the global headquarters. Reporting to the Head of Data, you’ll develop actionable dashboards, improve reporting systems, and guide data architecture design based on user needs.
You will also train and upskill over 50 analysts and data users to ensure reliable, impactful reporting. Your work will be instrumental in helping ENGIE Energy Access improve its customer services, particularly in the areas of solar kit experience and repayment tracking.

Collaborate with analysts and strategists to build dashboards and global reports.
Provide training and support on data systems, dashboard usage, and report interpretation.
Guide the data team in designing data structures that improve accessibility and performance.
Support technical upskilling for analysts in SQL and reporting tools.
Liaise between markets and the data team to align project priorities with field needs.
Investigate data integrity issues and recommend improvements.
Travel to field locations as needed to understand and improve data collection processes.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Language:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Fluent in English; French, Portuguese, or Swahili is an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis or related fields.
Technical Skills:
Strong SQL skills for writing queries and processing data.
Proficient in data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
Familiarity with Python, R, and statistical analysis libraries (scipy, stats).
Experience using AWS tools (RDS, Redshift, S3).
Knowledge of agile methodologies (e.g., JIRA sprints and scrums).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data validation.
Strategic thinker with demonstrated impact on business decisions.
Collaborative and culturally sensitive team player.
Willingness to travel and engage in hands-on problem-solving.
