Job Description
Vacancy Title: Laboratory Technologist
Hiring Organization: C-Care Uganda
Duty Station: C-Care IMC – Mbale and IDC Branches
Reports To: Laboratory Manager
The Laboratory Technologist will play a critical role in delivering reliable diagnostic services by ensuring proper specimen collection, conducting tests according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and providing timely, accurate laboratory results. The role requires efficiency, precision, and adherence to quality control standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Execute daily lab operations, including sample collection, testing, control runs, and documentation.
Ensure proper handling and transportation of samples in line with internal protocols.
Maintain accurate records and uphold quality assurance standards.
Take charge of assigned work shifts and ensure smooth handover between teams.
Participate in stock management by conducting inventory checks, ordering supplies, and properly documenting receipt and usage.
Uphold safety, infection control, and waste management practices as per organizational and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
Skills: Strong technical knowledge in lab procedures, attention to detail, organizational ability, and familiarity with diagnostic equipment
