Job Description
African Hearts Community Organisation is seeking experienced and committed professionals to join its team in delivering impactful community development, social welfare, and organizational support services.
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the organization's financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting effective financial planning and accountability. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring proper stewardship of organizational resources and donor funds.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting documents.
- Process payments, receipts, invoices, and bank transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with approved financial plans.
- Reconcile bank statements and organizational accounts regularly.
- Support financial audits and provide required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory obligations.
- Maintain proper filing systems for financial records and supporting documents.
- Assist management in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Monitor cash flow and advise management on financial performance.
- Support grant and donor financial reporting requirements where applicable.
