1. Laboratory Preparation and Support

• Prepare chemicals, reagents, apparatus, and materials for practical lessons and examinations.
• Set up laboratory equipment before practical sessions and dismantle, clean, and store it after use.
• Assist Chemistry teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations when required.

2. Laboratory Maintenance and Housekeeping

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Chemistry laboratory, preparation room, and chemical store.
• Clean, dry, and properly store all laboratory apparatus and equipment.
• Identify, record, and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.

3. Chemical and Equipment Management

• Receive, label, store, and issue chemicals and laboratory materials in accordance with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of chemicals, reagents, and equipment.
• Monitor stock levels and submit timely requisitions for laboratory supplies.

4. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Ensure adherence to laboratory safety rules and standard operating procedures.
• Enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Safely handle and dispose of chemical waste in line with approved safety guidelines.
• Support implementation of emergency procedures, including fire safety, chemical spill response, and first aid.

5. Administrative and Other Duties

• Maintain laboratory records, usage logs, and inventory registers.
• Assist during internal and external laboratory inspections and audits.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department (Chemistry) or School Administration in line with the role.
