Job Description
Vacancy Title: IT Infrastructure Administrator
Location: Kampala, Uganda

KCB Bank Uganda Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced IT Infrastructure Administrator to join our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining the bank’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems and networks.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Implement and support high-end and mid-range IT and end-user infrastructure in alignment with the Bank’s vision, ensuring high availability of server and network systems.
Maintain infrastructure uptime and business continuity through effective 24/7 management of data center operations, adhering to established SLAs.
Design and oversee the execution of hardware infrastructure projects that support the Bank’s operational needs.
Analyze business requirements and recommend suitable ICT infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, networks, end-user devices).
Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning; develop budgets and make future projections for infrastructure needs.
Manage remote backups, data replication, and perform both scheduled and ad-hoc system backups and recoveries.
Monitor antivirus systems across all sites and take necessary remedial actions.
Design and implement security measures for servers, storage, virtualized environments, and cloud infrastructure.
Maintain up-to-date documentation on infrastructure, including inventory, policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
Implement IT service delivery standards, policies, and procedures that support the Bank’s business operations and strategic goals.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Microsoft Active Directory, Virtual Server Technologies (e.g., VMware), A+, MCSA, RHSA.
Additional certifications like CCNA and ITIL will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration, network management, user support, or IT service management.
