Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa [CCBA] is the largest African Coca-Cola Bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda Limited (CCBU) is a subsidiary of CCBA. We are currently offering internship opportunities for a maximum of (3) months to students in the following areas of study:
Duties and Responsibilities
Designing the Program: Create and develop the structure, goals, and objectives of the internship program. Determine the duration, eligibility criteria, and learning outcomes that align with the organization's needs and the interns' development goals.
Recruitment and Selection: Recruit potential interns through various channels such as college career fairs, online job boards, and referrals. Review resumes, conduct interviews, and select candidates who demonstrate the required skills, qualifications, and fit for the program.
Onboarding and Orientation: Coordinate the onboarding process for interns, including paperwork, orientation sessions, and introductions to key staff members and departments. Provide an overview of the organization's mission, values, policies, and expectations for interns.
Assigning Projects and Tasks: Match interns with appropriate projects, tasks, and assignments based on their skills, interests, and learning objectives. Ensure that projects provide meaningful learning experiences and opportunities for skill development.
Supervision and Mentorship: Assign mentors or supervisors to oversee the work of interns and provide guidance, support, and feedback throughout the internship. Encourage regular check-ins and meetings to discuss progress, address concerns, and offer career advice.
Professional Development: Facilitate opportunities for professional development, such as workshops, training sessions, networking events, and shadowing experiences. Encourage interns to participate in learning activities that enhance their skills, knowledge, and career readiness.
Performance Evaluation: Establish clear performance evaluation criteria and conduct regular assessments of interns' performance and progress towards their goals. Provide constructive feedback and guidance for improvement, recognizing achievements and areas for growth.
Networking and Engagement: Organize networking events, social activities, and opportunities for interns to interact with colleagues, alumni, and industry professionals. Encourage participation in company events and initiatives to foster a sense of belonging and community.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of interns' activities, projects, hours worked, and accomplishments. Prepare reports and summaries documenting the outcomes and impact of the internship program for stakeholders, such as senior management or funders.
Compliance and Administration: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies governing internships, including labor laws, safety guidelines, and confidentiality requirements. Handle administrative tasks such as payroll, benefits, and insurance for interns.
Continuous Improvement: Solicit feedback from interns, mentors, supervisors, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in the internship program. Use feedback to make adjustments and enhancements to enhance the overall experience for future interns.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in electrical /mechanical/automotive/chemical engineering or related field.
Bachelor ‘s degree in any business course with a bias in economics, statistics, accounting, or finance
Bachelor’s degree in procurement /supply chain & logistics
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, organizational psychology, or social sciences.
Ugandan Citizen or Ugandan permanent resident
Internship recommendation from the university
Second, third, or fourth-year student.
Equipped with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the desire to learn.
Inclusive and able to work with diverse backgrounds.
