Job Title:  IFGD Project and Policy Support Officer

Job Summary: The IFGD Project and Policy Support Officer is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of projects and revision of policies within the mandate of IFGD, ensuring the continuous improvements of Institutional Fundraising and Grant Management processes within WCAF and across the Alliance.


The role includes three complimentary functions:

  • Continued support to IFGD Systems & Processes,

  • Project & policy coordination and execution,

  • Institutional funding account management support.

  • The role is expected to adapt and evolve in line with the AP2026 planning process and wider organizational planning process.

This role involves approximately 40% focusing on project and policy support, 20% coordination and 60% on account manager supporting departments as indicated by the Head of IFGD.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Support to the IFGD Systems & Processes Team

  • Contribute to grants data processes (e.g., grants and partner funding agreement activations), ensuring compliance with internal controls and donor guidelines.

  • Collaborate directly with programme colleagues (CO, Global, etc.) to support their effective use of Rafiki, ensuring data is entered accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate the Bid Committee, monitor the dedicated inbox, and serve as the point of contact by presenting items for discussion to the Bid Committee members.

  • Support team leads in identifying and analysing trends, challenges, and developments within IFGD and related areas, and in translating insights into actionable improvements for work processes, tools, systems, and policies.

  • Support with active input in the continuing process of institutional fundraising and grant management quality improvement for the purpose of the service within the project area, including processes and system optimization.

Support with Institutional Fundraising and Grant Management project & policy execution and coordination (30%)

  • Working directly with the Head of IFGD and/or S&P Team leads, reviews policies, guidelines and procedures related to IFGD area of work in donor relations & institutional fundraising and quality assurance that have been already developed to identify problems/deviations and put forward suggested improvements and prepare project briefs for such revisions.

  • Share information and organize training and/or roll out sessions to support the roll out of new or reviewed policies and procedures related to IFGD area of work in donor relations & institutional fundraising and quality assurance.

  • Works with Head of IFGD and wider WCAF and Alliance collaboration mechanisms to support timely and accurate coordination of policy and project information, and timely management of information related to the relevant coordination mechanisms (IF ACG, policy committee etc.).

Donor and Partnership Management: INGO institutional account management support

  • Work in coordination with the Head of IFGD and/or Sub-team leads to support the IF management of key relationships with INGO and other partners (e.g. for R&D), including supporting teams with identifying grant opportunities.

  • Work in coordination with Account Managers and Department leads and monitor trends, partner & donor priorities, and translate these into actionable plans in support of ongoing fundraising efforts.

  • Support designated project and/or Rafiki leads with registration, updates, and agreements for opportunities with INGOs and R&D partners.

  • Ensure INGO partner relationships and opportunities data is provided to the Alliance (both by FMs and WCAF departments) through use of existing systems & processes, ensuring a coordinated approach.

  • Support senior team leads collaboration with the finance team to ensure accurate financial tracking and compliance for grant activities across the INGO, and any other portfolios as required.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • University degree

  • Experience in the humanitarian context, preferably with institutional funding and grant management cycle

  • Strong analytical skills to identify and solve problems

  • Capacity building capabilities in order to roll out policies, procedures and guidelines, conveying complex concepts in a simple and understandable manner

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, market conditions, and organizational needs, while maintaining focus on achieving institutional foundations goals

  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)

  • Strong abilities in promoting an organizational culture that prioritizes respect, fairness, and ethical treatment of all stakeholders, contributing to a safe and inclusive work environment

  • A critical and logical thinker helping to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English and preferably in any other WCA languages
