Job Description
As part of a dynamic team, the HR Manager will be playing an important role in ensuring the department carries out its functions in a timely and professional manner. The incumbent will be interacting with employees at all levels, external parties, Group level staff and sister company staff and is expected to display a high level of integrity, maturity and professionalism.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the full life cycle of employees in Uganda
- Lead recruitment process. Collaborate closely with hiring managers to ensure we meet their hiring needs and goals
- Source and attract candidates for current and future positions using creative and diverse sourcing methods
- Screen and interview candidates against position specifications and provide in-depth feedback about the candidates
- Focus on onboarding, engaging, growing, and developing our people, as well as implementing cross- organizational global HR processes to the Uganda team.
- A strong employee relations leader able to guide the teams through complex disciplinary and employee relations matters to arrive at proper and legally sound solutions.
- Lead HR processes such as onboarding, payroll, offboarding, life events etc.
- Design and deliver targeted solutions in a dynamic environment, including engagement, performance management, benefits management, talent management, recognition, change management and team building.
- Headcount tracking, training and development and to ensure cultural alignment.
- Help promote an enjoyable and exciting workplace to retain employees.
- Ensure HR systems are up-dated, and able to leverage insights based on data to assess and impact the business units.
- Lead team building activities and employee experience initiatives
- The person in this role must be a strong leader who is able to guide the HR function and business managers on all matters relating to HR and who will gain the trust and respect of all levels of employee.
- Supervision and development of the Uganda HR Team which includes roles based in Head Office and roles based in the field.
