Developing Procurement Strategies: Developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing procurement processes.
Vendor Management: Identifying, evaluating, and selecting vendors/suppliers based on factors such as quality, price, reliability, and service level agreements. Negotiating contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
Contract Management: Managing contracts and agreements throughout the procurement lifecycle. This includes drafting contracts, reviewing terms and conditions, negotiating changes, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Sourcing and Procurement: Overseeing the sourcing and procurement of goods, services, and materials required by the organization. Developing procurement plans, soliciting bids and proposals, evaluating responses, and making purchasing decisions.
Cost Management: Monitoring and controlling procurement costs to optimize spending and achieve cost savings targets. Analyzing cost data, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers/vendors. This involves regular communication, performance evaluation, issue resolution, and collaboration to drive value and continuous improvement.
Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with procurement activities. This includes assessing supplier risks, market risks, and supply chain disruptions, and implementing risk management strategies to minimize impact on operations.
Compliance and Ethics: Ensuring compliance with relevant procurement laws, regulations, and policies. Upholding ethical standards and promoting transparency, fairness, and integrity in procurement practices.
Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in procurement operations. Implementing best practices, streamlining workflows, and leveraging technology to enhance procurement processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing procurement data to identify trends, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate reports. Providing insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis to support decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as department heads, project managers, and finance teams, to understand their procurement needs and requirements. Building strong relationships and fostering collaboration to ensure alignment and support for procurement initiatives.
Training and Development: Providing training and development opportunities for procurement staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Ensuring that procurement team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively and contribute to organizational success.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring that purchased goods and services meet quality standards and specifications. Implementing quality assurance processes, conducting inspections, and addressing quality issues with suppliers/vendors as needed.
Disposal and Asset Management: Managing the disposal of surplus or obsolete assets in compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies. Implementing asset tracking and management systems to optimize asset utilization and lifecycle management.
Continuous Learning: Staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement and supply chain management. Continuously learning and adapting to changes in the procurement landscape to drive innovation and efficiency.

An honors degree in procurement and supply chain management or Pharmacy or Business Administration (Procurement Option) or related course from a recognized University
Professional Diploma in procurement & Supplies CIPS Level 6 or its equivalent is a must.
Master's degree in any of the above course is an added advantage
Minimum of six (6) years of working experience of which four (4) must have been gained from a supervisory position in a reputable organization
