Develop and implement flight operations strategies, procedures, and policies to maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Lead and manage the Flight Operations department to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Oversee recruitment, selection, and ongoing training of flight crew, cabin crew, and operations staff.

Monitor day-to-day flight operations and ensure safe, compliant, and effective flight dispatch and crew scheduling.

Ensure all flight crew maintain qualifications, certifications, and training in line with regulatory standards.

Manage the department’s training programs and control the annual flight operations training budget.

Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of all flight records, including load sheets, manifests, and personnel data.

Maintain current operational manuals and oversee amendments in collaboration with the Quality Department.

Coordinate with Maintenance, Crew Scheduling, and Load Control to support seamless operational performance.

Ensure that each flight has a designated Pilot-in-Command and qualified crew members assigned.

Oversee and ensure compliance with IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) standards.

Lead internal investigations and collaborate with relevant authorities in the event of accidents or incidents.

Provide timely operational advice to the Accountable Manager on issues affecting flight performance and safety.

Ensure all personnel are updated on changes in aviation regulations, internal safety information, and operational standards.

Manage performance, appraisals, and succession planning for all departmental staff.

Maintain strong working relationships with the UCAA and other regulatory authorities.

Lead the implementation and adherence to safety, fatigue, and risk management frameworks across the department.

Approve operational risk tolerances in relation to flight safety and security.
