Job Description
As Head of Branch Operations, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the branch, ensuring smooth and efficient processes across cash handling, customer service, audit coordination, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision. You will ensure strict adherence to internal controls, timely reporting, operational excellence, and a service culture that aligns with the bank’s strategic objectives. You will also drive digital banking adoption and help build a high-performing team.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Administer cash management and vault access control effectively
Supervise and coordinate branch office staff to ensure peak performance
Liaise with auditors to ensure compliance and avoid penalties or exceptions
Review reports and ledgers regularly to identify operational gaps
Resolve potential failure points in branch operations
Maintain high standards of customer service and manage complaints efficiently
Approve branch-wide transactions and oversee customer service delivery
Prepare and reconcile proofs and transactions accurately
Ensure prompt submission of regulatory and internal reports
Provide or coordinate staff training and performance monitoring
Maintain full compliance with internal and external regulations
Champion digital banking initiatives in line with corporate strategy
Promote the bank’s products and services to enhance customer loyalty
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking, specifically in branch operations
Competencies:
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Sound knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in operational risk management
High integrity and attention to detail
Ability to manage pressure and multitask efficiently
Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
Strong customer relations and problem-solving skills
Commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence
